About the Area

Frog's Hall Camping is located in a small hamlet approximately one mile outside the Town of Eye. Situated on the border of Suffolk and Norfolk, we make an excellent base from which to explore all that is available from both picturesque counties.  You are never far away from quaint villages, countryside amenities and many places of interest.

Eye has much history with its own castle remains and period buildings all located within a short walking distance from the town centre. Eye can be reached by road and footpaths from the campsite and with its Pub, Restaurant and cafes, makes for an excellent destination for a leisurely walk. For those travelling to the town by car, there are two free car parks in Eye, one at Cross Street and one in Buckshorn Lane.

To learn more about the rich architectural history of Eye itself, you could follow the Eye Town Trail walk during your stay with us. Many of our guests have enjoyed this and recommended it others.  We will provide you with all the guide information upon arrival at the campsite, so you can learn about the 24 points of interest on the trail if you wish to.

Thornham Walks is only a mile away and is again easily reached by car or on foot. The Thornham Estate has numerous footpaths which wind their way through beautiful countryside taking visitors into ancient parkland, woodland and farmland. You will also find the Forge tea rooms and the Coach House restaurant for those seeking refreshments before your short trip back to the campsite.

For those steam train enthusiasts amongst you, there is a great little railway called Mid Suffolk Light Railway and Steam Heritage Museum at nearby Brockford, Wetheringsett (less than 5 miles away). Also approximately 10 miles away there is the fabulous Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens which has over five miles of tracks and four different train journeys to choose from. Surrounding the steam activities is over 10 acres of beautiful gardens to walk around.

We provide all of our guests with an information pack upon arrival, including local information, maps, cycle routes, etc.  If you have any specific interests, please let us know when you book and we will be pleased to help!
